About Raise The Bar:

Raise the Bar, located in Sparks, NV has been providing the Reno-Tahoe area with high level track & field training since 2010. Owned by Randy Bryant, who has a deep love for the sport. Starting around age 5 Bryant found his love for pole vaulting, he carried that love through high school and into college. In college he was a Junior College National Champion in the pole vault. He then went on to vault at University of New Mexico. Post collegiately he started coaching and had the opportunity to coach 2x olympian Simon Arkell in 2 Olympic games. Now, RTB has trained some of the Nevada and the Nations top T&F Athletes. RTB has had the honor of having:

22 All-Americans
1 National Champion

meet Our coaches

Coach Randy Bryant

Randy Bryant, our Director and Coach, began competing in Track & Field at a young age and continues to share his passion through coaching. Growing up in Kansas, he started pole vaulting at six and went on to set a high school state record of 15’3¼”, win a National Championship at Hutchinson Community College with a mark of 16’5”, and achieve a collegiate personal best of 16’8” at the University of New Mexico, where he was an all-conference athlete. As a coach, Randy has mentored numerous high school state champions, collegiate all-Americans, and even a 2-time Olympian, Simon Arkell, whom he accompanied to the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games. His coaching highlights include guiding his brother to multiple state titles and leading his collegiate vaulters to conference sweeps at UNM, cementing his legacy in the sport.

Coach Cariann Bryant

Coach Bryant started pole vaulting at a young age with Raise the Bar Pole Vault. She is the 2023 NIAA State runner-up in the 5A pole vault with Bishop Manogue and is currently a member of the Central Washington University Track & Field program. In just her first indoor season at CWU, Cariann has already worked her way into the all-time top 10 list at CWU. Cariann has years of coaching experience in her young age having been raised in a gym setting and grown up in the RTB program. Her knowledge and passion for track and field is beyond her years. She loves working with young athletes and sharing her experience and knowledge!

Coach Drew Klein

Coach Klein is a Multi-Event athlete at Central Washington University where he is the school record holder in the pole vault at 16’2¾” and the #3 all-time scorer in the indoor heptathlon. He was the GNAC Champion in the pole vault and the heptathlon during the 2023-24 indoor season. Drew started track & field at a young age and has had a passion for the sport ever since. As a high school senior he was the runner-up in the Decathlon at the Washington State High School Championship. He brings high energy and fun to the RTB program!

Coach Corey Reid

Coach Reid is an assistant coach at Damonte Ranch and Carson High School where, as a former collegiate multi-event athlete, he can coach just about any event. He has been a co-coach with Raise the Bar over the past few years and in 2022 helped guide Carson HS and Raise the Bar pole vaulter, Kai Miller, to a school record and a national top 20 vault of 16’2”. Coach Reid is a former state record holder in the 400 meters with an impressive time of 47.15. As a collegiate athlete, Reid was the 2017 Division II NCAA Field Scholar Athlete of the Year while also earning all-America honors for Azusa Pacific. He transferred to the University of South Dakota where he broke the school record in the indoor heptathlon. While showing tremendous potential that season in the decathlon, Reid’s season and track and field career came to an end with an achilles injury. We are fortunate to have Coach Reid with Raise the Bar to share his knowledge and experiences in track & field.
